Sado, the tea ceremony, is one of the traditional events with green tea called Matcha. In Azuchi-Momoyama period (1668-1600), Sen-no-rikyu invented “Wabicha” which became the origin of modern Sado. Tea Ceremony represents the true essence of Japanese hospitality.By observing certain rules and aesthetic values, you will see how a true tea ceremony is performed, and how great-tasting green tea is made.
Location is just 5 minutes away from Kyoto National Museum and Sanjusangen-do Temple. Our tea master will welcome you to the traditional tea ceremony. You will learn from our master how to prepare for traditional tea ceremony, how to conduct as a host, and how to make green tea bowl. You can purchase tea ceremony products at WASHINKAN. So that you can recreate tea ceremony once you return to your home country.
